MTG Marvel Super Heroes: Cards, Products & Release Date
Key Takeaways: Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes releases on 26 June 2026. Confirmed characters include Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Doctor Doom, Namor, Galactus, and the entire Fantastic Four. The set introduces a brand-new mechanic that lets Quicksilver start the game already in play. Collector Boosters include Borderless Source Material reprints of heavy hitters like Dig Through Time and Harbinger of the Seas.
What Is Marvel Super Heroes?
Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes is the next instalment in Wizards of the Coast's multi-year collaboration with Marvel. Following the Universes Beyond model established by sets like The Lord of the Rings and Final Fantasy, this is a full standalone set — not a Secret Lair drop. It gets its own expansion symbol (MSH for the main set, MSC for Commander) and a complete product lineup.
The set was first announced earlier in 2025, with a preview prologue published in December 2025. Full card previews are expected in the weeks leading up to the June release.

Confirmed Cards and Characters
Captain America, Super-Soldier The Sentry, Golden Guardian
Captain America, Super-Soldier leads the charge as the face of the set — he also headlines the Heroes United Scene Box. The Sentry, Golden Guardian makes his Magic debut alongside him, representing the Avengers' heavy hitters.
Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk
Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk is a double-faced card — and a notable design first. The Hulk introduces a brand-new creature type to Magic, which is an exciting rules addition for tribal brewers down the line.
Quicksilver, Brash Blur
Quicksilver, Brash Blur may be the most mechanically interesting card shown so far. He is fast enough to start the game already in play — a genuinely new mechanic that has no precedent in Magic. The implications for Commander and Constructed are worth watching closely once the full rules text is revealed.
Namor the Sub-Mariner Attuma, Atlantean Warlord
The Atlantis contingent arrives in force. Namor the Sub-Mariner and Attuma, Atlantean Warlord are confirmed, and the Source Material reprint slot includes both Harbinger of the Seas and Lord of Atlantis — strongly suggesting a Merfolk-adjacent subtheme. If you run a Merfolk Commander deck, start budgeting now.
Doctor Doom Baron Helmut Zemo Super-Skrull
The villain roster is equally stacked. Doctor Doom gets the royal treatment with his own Classic Comic version. Baron Helmut Zemo and Super-Skrull round out the confirmed evildoers, with Doctor Doom's cabal of ne'er-do-wells headlining the Villains Unleashed Scene Box.
The Coming of Galactus World War Hulk
The Coming of Galactus looks like the set's big splashy mythic — the cosmic devourer is exactly the kind of game-ending threat that ends Commander games. World War Hulk appears as a Panel Card variant, capturing the rage of Sakaar's gladiator champion.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Thunderbolts Conspiracy Doom Reigns Supreme
Some welcome deep cuts too: Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur bring a more offbeat corner of Marvel to the table, while Thunderbolts Conspiracy and Doom Reigns Supreme suggest politically-flavoured black enchantments or schemes that feel very on-brand.
The Fantastic Four Commander Deck
Invisible Woman Mister Fantastic Human Torch The Thing
The Fantastic Four Commander Deck is the flagship precon for this set — and it has a genuinely clever design twist. All four members (Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch, and The Thing) are legal as the deck's commander. You choose your favourite, build around their colour identity, and swap in the others at the table if the mood takes you. It is a smart nod to the rotating dynamics of Marvel's First Family and provides strong replay value for a precon.
Booster Fun Treatments
The set brings three confirmed card treatments, plus additional surprises not yet revealed:
- Classic Comic Cards — a retro four-colour printing style evoking vintage Marvel Comics art. Confirmed for Captain America, Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk, Namor, and Doctor Doom.
- Borderless Source Material Cards — reprints of existing Magic cards with Marvel-themed art. Includes Ephemerate, Dig Through Time, Harbinger of the Seas, Lord of Atlantis, Dauthi Voidwalker (as Widow-Making Infiltrator), Extinction Event, Massacre Girl (as Elektra, Deadly Assassin), Chaos Warp, Force of Vigor, Heroic Intervention, and Horn of Greed.
- Borderless Panel Cards — comic-panel framed art. Confirmed for World War Hulk and The Coming of Galactus.
The Source Material slot is doing the heavy lifting for value here. Dig Through Time, Force of Vigor, and Heroic Intervention are all format staples, and foil versions in Marvel art will move at serious prices.
Personal Testing Note
The Source Material reprint list is doing something clever: several of the chosen cards map directly onto characters. Harbinger of the Seas as a Namor-flavoured reprint is perfect — and it is already a Modern staple that warps games against non-Island decks. Expect that card to spike hard at set release if it hasn't already.

What to Watch For
Full preview season has not started yet — what's been shown is a curated prologue, not a full spoiler. Several big names from the Marvel Universe have not been confirmed yet: Spider-Man, Thor, Black Panther, Magneto, and Thanos are all conspicuously absent from the revealed cards list. Given the scope of the set, expect those to surface during the proper preview season.
The new mechanic tied to Quicksilver starting in play is the most rules-significant thing to track. Depending on how it works, it could be completely fair or an absolute menace in fast formats. Keep an eye on the official rules clarification when previews go live.
